I Love Ontario ....
It's winter in Ontario
And the gentle breezes blow,
70 miles per hour at 52 below!
Oh, how I love Ontario
When the snow's up to your butt.
You take a breath of winter air
And your nose is frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful,
I guess I'll hang around.
I could never leave Ontario,
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground.
Got this quote from a email today. Had to put it on here cause the way the weather has been in Jan/Feb so far this year has been pretty chilly. Though I should get used to it, it comes EVERY year. Still chills me to the bone though. Wish I was a kid. They don't seem to have a sense of cold. My DS could go outside for 2 hrs in -22C weather and not let him bug him until you told him to come inside.
The above picture was taken on Feb 1/09 at our farm. We decided to walk back cause I had this loopy idea last spring that I wanted a landscape picture of all the seasons of the same spot. Winter was the only one left to get. The pictures turned out wonderful but getting back there was a challenge. We didn't have a snowmobile or ATV so just our legs it was. What a mistake that was LOL. As u can see someone had used a plow to go back, assuming for snowmobiles, but wasn't plowed in A LONG time. So we had to walk on the snowbanks cause at least it was semi-packy. The middle of the trail was up to our knees, upper thighs on the little guy. Couldn't guess if your next step meant u were above the snow or knee deep. So slow and steady was the pace. Once in the woods, it was pretty good. Trees blocked most of the drifting snow so it wasn't as deep and the snowmobile tracks were helpful to walk on. Times like that I am glad I live in the city. I do miss this area in the summer mind you. Just being around trees, nature, though the mosquitoes I can do without :P
Best Wishes
