Some Good News for a Change

Good news for a change!
We are expecting baby #2 around June 2009!  I can finally post it cause we kept it a secret till the 3rd month.  Told the family so now I am telling the world :)  We are excited, and more relaxed this time around.  So far anyways.  Have the jitters once in a while, wondering how to handle two kids, a 5yr old and a newborn.  DS will do well I think.  He's at a age where he can help if he wants too, or not.  No pressure there, he can do whatever.  I don't think he 'needs' to be a good big brother by helping out.  He'll be a great big brother by just being around :)  He's talking about making the baby laugh when it's crying and such.  Such a good boy!  We want to find out if it's a boy or girl.  Thinking of M names.  I like Molly for a girl and Mason/Miles for a boy.  But my mind can change between now and June :)   Xmas is almost upon us and the snow is everywhere.  Looking like a white Xmas after all.  Even with the rain that is supposed to fall Xmas Eve there will still be enough white stuff, just messy as heck!!  Only day of travel is on Xmas Day, off to my parents.  Can't wait to see DS's face when he sees what Santa brought him :)

So Sad

What a sad situation on the stabbing in Shwa last week.  The little boy (3yr old) died, the mother died and the father just passed on yesterday.  The 5 yr old is still in hospital.  Hope he's doing ok.  Nothing like innocent lives being snuffed out too soon.  The parents weren't even 30 yet, the kids just so young (around my kiddo's age)  The person who caused all the chaos is dead as well, shot by the police.  There is all sorts of fundraisers going on around town now for the family.  Hope they can get enough to take care of that little boy that's survived.

That's all I am thinking about today, that poor little boy.  Who's going to take care of him now that is mom/dad and grandma are all gone.  There is family near by, think a uncle, hope they can take care of him.  So sad.  I imagine they don't have a will either cause to be honest who thinks of a will at 26/29?  We finally got ours done just this year and we are in our mid 30s.  Terrible I know, but to be honest it's kind of a mortality kind of issue with me.  It does give incredible peace of mind when it's done.  So if one thing can be said of this issue, do a will, single or married, young or old.  You can get the legal kits through Chapters for $30 or go to a Lawyer and spend around $500.  Do it, or else the government will decided what goes where.  Do you really need them to decide what to do with your stuff when they can't even decide on what to do with the stuff they have now?

Everything seems to go in cycles

Just read in the paper today that there was a stabbing in south Shwa.  A man came into a home where there was a bday party, stabbed the ex-girlfriend and new boyfriend, slit 3yr old boys throat and stabbed the 7yr old boy too.(all according to neighbours)  Other children(at the birthday party) were witness to his horrific ordeal.  Cops arrived, one got stabbed by the guy and he then shot at the attacker.  Killed him so SIU is now investigating since a officer had to shot his weapon.  So two people died cause of mental issues this guy was having.  Really need to deal with mental issues a lot more seriously than what we do.  How sad for this family.  The kids lost a mom by the hands of their father, father lost his life by stabbing a cop, new partner lost his love and who knows how he is doing with his stab wounds.  The kids will NEVER be the same after this.  Innocence has died for these kids.  They will now have the burden of having this over their heads for the rest of their lives.  I hope they are raised by loving and caring people who will make sure they get the help they need.

On another note, True Blood is done for the season.  And let me say I cannot wait till season 2 starts!  I really liked the story line and have always liked vampire stories :)  Dexter is FINALLY getting good, took a while but it's getting there.  Not many episodes left of it, we'll see how it ends ;)

Christmas is coming.  All done shopping!!!  Thank god.  Has taken me a while to get it done.  Been doing it since the end of September, just taking my time, getting stuff here and there.  Got the last gift last night so that is awesome!  Feel so good that it's done.  Even talked to "santa" about Jake's stocking, so it's done too :)

WOW

So the latest news around here is that the confirmed that the body found up north is that of Brandon Crisp (www.torontosun.com/news/canada/2008/11/09/7352311-sun.html)
How the poor boy died is even more sad.  Fell out a tree and sustained injuries that killed him.  Alone in the dark.  Poor boy.  15yrs old, so young.  I feel so bad for the parents.   They did the right thing by taking away his Xbox cause they were concerned he was using it too much.  He left the house in a huff.  He packed a backpack of stuff, father helped him with that.  Thinking he'll blow off some steam and come home.  He didn't.  3 weeks went by and they found him.  Foul play is not suspected.  *sigh*  Tragic accident and being a young kid with the mind send that you can  live forever.

I also read in the paper today about a jogger in Arizona that got bit by a rabid fox.  Did u read this?  I think she is fantastic to keep her wits about her like that, but a bit nutty at the same time!  The fox bit her arm and wouldn't let go.  She held onto it, ran back to her car (2.5km away) and threw it in her trunk.  Drove to hospital and got animal tested which it did have rabies and now she needs the shots.  Hope she does ok, she is a amazing person! I don't know if she's smart or just off her rocker LOL

Then there is the case of George Garratt, 19yr old from Britain, now known as Captain Fantastic Faster Superman Spiderman Batman Wolverine Hulk And The Flash Combined.  He changed his name to that huge new one on this online service for $20.  His Grandma is not happy, hasn't spoken to him since :)  He says he "wanted to be unique".  Well, that he is.  Not sure if he put any thought on how that might effect him in his future.  And it might not be a Legal name change either.  I think it's funny, something a 19yr old would do :)

Books

I love books.  I read constantly.  I have now moved onto reading blogs and newspapers online :)  I do visit our local library and try to get a book/week, for DS and myself.  Noticed lately that DS loves looking at books (he can't read yet).  I think this is just wonderful.  My DH and I are readers.  We have 2 large bookcases full (some double width if it's paperbacks), 1 medium full, I small and two little ones for DS and we are running out of room!  Time to donate some stuff to local library again.  Though I do refuse to donate DS's books.  Does that seems weird?  I am kind of torn on it.  I like the idea that he likes books, and has tones to choose from.  That is the dilemma, too many hanging around!  We make a habit of reading at least one story (maybe two if it's not too late) before DS goes down for the night.  I do follow trends it seems as well.  Whatever is hot out there I try to read, keep up with everyone else discussing the topics:)

I also like some children's books .  There is a fantastic series called "Walter the Farting Dog".  DS loves these and so do I.  It's about a dog, named Walter, who gets adopted by Billy and Betty.  The family discovers Walter has a bit of a "gas issue".  He might be misjudged or misunderstood, but he's loyal and a great friend to you for as long as you'll have him.  The pictures in the book are quite neat.  Very creative.

Adult reading - I'm into pretty much anything mystery oriented.  Suspense and Horror too.  Romance.........I'm not really into that, maybe cause most of the romances I have read just seem to fake to be true.  If anyone can recommend a good romance book that isn't to far fetched I might, "might" mind you, give it a try.

Been a while, I know!

It's been a while since I posted last.  Since October 19th to be exact.  Nothing really has been going on that's really excited or worth putting down in my blog.  Should at least write something a little once/week so I can get back into the swing of things I guess :)

True Blood was awesome last night!  It's getting good.  I want to read that Twilight series now, I loved Lost Boys, I think I have a thing for va
mpires *wink wink*

Dexter is finally starting to get a bit interesting.  Been kind of dragging  his feet this season, started to pick up a bit last night, a bit, not much, just a bit.

DS has still not mastered the time change we had here on Saturday.  He usually gets up at 6 am at the old time, well now that it is fall, the h
our goes back so that means he now wakes up at 5 am (uhhhhhhhhhhhh so tired).  Swimming lessons are tomorrow so that's good.  He's really enjoying that these days.  GOT to get him in there at least another day out of the week so he can 'practice' his swimming.  He's really gotten the hang of it now.  He's ducking under the water and holds his breath and kicks and uses his arms.

DH is out of town for work.  DS was a bit upset he wasn't home last night to tuck him in.  Been spoiled that he's been home so often :)

Went and did some more Xmas shopping today.  Was hoping to get more of it done, got most, not all.  Getting sick of it though, seems like it's never ending!   Just a few more then it'll be done!  Might have to send out DH to get the rest of the stuff (stocking stuffers and such)

We had a good Halloween.  Had over 100 kids!  Used up all 120 bags of mini chips and 130 mini chocolate bars.  Considering it was one chip/chocolate per kid we had ALOT.  Never have seen that many EVER!  Our neighbors up the street had about 50 they said.  She was shocked in the amount of treats we went through.  Thought we'd have some left over, well we did have some, but thought there would be a lot more than what we had.  DS designed the pumpkins.  I carved and dug out the guts, he did one handful then h
e decided that he was done :)  Kept askin
g me if I was done when I was carving them LOL little bugger.  Leave me to do all the work but reap the reward.  Aw what you do for your kids.

Hoping to have a play date later in the week.  Not sure if that'll happen or not, we'll see.  We might go see Madagascar 2 on the weeken
d, but might hold off cause our nephew is coming for a couple of days at the end of the month.  Might just take them to that together, giving them something to do on the weekend.  We have him for about 5-6 days, DS is quite excited by that.

Alot going through this noggin' today

Holy crap.  I have so much going on in my head right now.

I have been reading on this Facebook site about a boy that was murdered in our hometown.  It's a victim remembrance site so people can post stuff about the victim and how great they were and how he touched the lives of many, etc etc.  I am of two minds of this.  I can see how it can help and hinder.  It's nice to see that this boy touch so many peoples lives and that the family knows they aren't alone in mourning.  On the other hand it tends to bring out the worst in people too.  Not everyone can be friends with everyone.  You are going to have the odd person that will post something so stupid and hurtful to that site that the family has anger/frustration towards that poster and they can't continue on with their lives.

I am totally fascinated on how much anger and revengeful feelings that people can have as well.  We have a justice system and it may not be perfect, but it's there for a reason.  You have to believe in it, as much as it doesn't make sense to you at the time.  You are usually leaning towards one side more than the other.  If you own family member was killed you  would be so distraught, and automatically guess that the other person is guilty.  Everyone is entitled to a fair trial and innocent until proven guilty.  What if it was you on the other end (I know it's hard to think about it and I myself have not experienced crime of this magnitude, so I have no clue really on how to handle it) and you were accused of a murder.  You'd expect the fullest extent of the law to help you out, if you think you are innocent.  I also think people should take responsibilities for their own actions.  If  you can't do the the time then don't do the crime.  That is a good lesson to learn.  If you are not willing to spend 20 yrs in jail, then don't do it!  Passion killings (having someone you know/love kill you) seems, to me, the most common form of  unnatural death out there.  Humans are the most complex beings out there.  How we can go from loving to killing in the blink of an eye is fascinating to me.  I know I'm warped.  I can't help but feel for the families on both sides.  Not only has the victims family have a lot of healing to do, but think about the other side of the family.  How can they show their face around town when everyone is whispering and pointing at them, saying that's the 'murderers mom/dad'.  It's got to be hard for them too.  How do you support your child, but know they did something so horribly wrong that you should be on the other side of the courtroom.   My Mom says you should unconditionally love your child.  If I was in the same situation, I don't know how I would handle it.  I think it would be a mix of guilt and loyalty .  Mourning for the family of the victim and for your own.  Hard to say where my loyalty would lie.  Anyways, enough about that twisted crap :P  {*sidenote: I am just trying to wrap my head around the whole thing, trying to see it from both sides of the door. Being a outsider looking in, who has no feelings wrapped in this case.  Potential juror I guess you'd put me as.*}

True Blood is getting good I think.  Grandma was murdered, Justin and Sookie (don't know if that's how u spell her name) are fighting with one another.  Sookie and Bill hooking up, mysterious Uncle shows up at funeral, getting good!!!  Dexter is kind of meh so far.  Not really grabbing me yet.  It's getting there, but kind of slow and I think cause they have a guest start like Jimmy Smits it's become to commercial for me.  I don't know why it hasn't really worked for me this season.  I was quite involved the last two seasons, though I don't go anywhere knowing that it's coming on LOL.  Still loyal, just waiting and seeing I guess.

Kiddo is getting excited about Halloween, being Optimus Prime this year.  Hope that Mr. Man will be home to take him this year and I can stay home an give out stuff.  Mr. Man wasn't home last year, Kiddo loved it, had so much fun.  He was a firefighter last year.  Still has his costume, wears it pretending.  Think I might buy a lot of stuff after Halloween this year, will be cheap right and great for dress up pretending stuff :)

Anyways, take care out there.  Know that not all people are bad.  The bad ones are always more interesting, hence the news about them all the time.

Oct. 6, 2008

I'm a little behind, I know ;)  Been a busy TV season so far.  Trying to get all caught up in the shows that I watch.  My favs (so far) are The Office, True Blood (picked up for a 2nd season yay), Little Britain USA, & Dexter.

Office-Jim proposes to Pam in the pouring rain at a little diner half way between each others school/work, awwwwww.  Hope they show the new episode this week, last week was US VP debate and Canadian leaders debate.

True Blood- Vampire falls for a girl who's got telepath powers.  She likes him cause she can't read his thoughts, just a blank canvas compared to others.  It's getting good.  Hard to get over Anna Paquin's southern accent sometimes, since she's from New Zealand ;P

Little Britain USA- Make me laugh every time (love Vicki, yeah but no but yeah, and the guy who plays the only gay in the village, can't remember his name, ugggg, it's going to bug me all day now)

and last but not least Dexter - been watching this from day 1.  I love this guy even though he's a serial killer, weird I know.  Show has been a bit slow this season so far.  Yesterday's episode was kind of meh.  Good, but not popping out of your seat good.

Nothing much else going on these days.  Went to the farm on Saturday and tried to get some pictures of the leaves changing colour on the trees. Haven't quite changed yet, tops have, but not the view I want.  Still too green.

Thanksgiving is coming up this coming weekend so going back home with Kiddo to visit my side of family on the Saturday and then off the TO on the Sunday to visit Mr. Man's family.  Mr. Man is away in Florida for work.  So he'll miss out on the turkey/stuffing etc this year too.  He missed last Xmas but who knows what this year will bring.  Thankful that he still has a job and we aren't in debt!  Only debt is the house, surprising since we are in our early 30s.

Off I go, laundry day today, been laundry day for the past week.  Just as I get caught up it happens again.  I swear we dirty a lot of clothes for only being 3 of us!

Quick one :)

Let's see.   What is new with me.  Our cat Walle has improved immensely.  He has a FIP virus, low dose of it.  So chances are he'll get sick like he did before and maybe worse.  Or he might be fine.  We decided to keep him.  We have fallen in love with the guy and hope we can give him the best life we can give him.

Anyways, let's continue.  Kiddo starts his swimming lessons today, so that is awesome.  He is becoming quite the little fish.  Makes me feel a bit more relieved that he is taking lessons and being around a pool.  I am not so paranoid when we go somewhere with a pool.  I still worry, but not as much.  They teach him basic pool rules and we try to implement them whenever we go elsewhere with a pool.  So I won't be writing much today since we will be going soon.

School has been going well for him.  He seems to like going and tells us stuff he did.  Though he did the "nothing" line last night when we asked him what he did in school today :)  Started already.

We saw the Blue Jay's play on Saturday (20th) and they surprisingly won.  I am not a fan of Baseball, after the players strike I lost all respect for the game, same with Hockey.  I didn't follow that faithfully before, but would catch the odd game, now I avoid it like the plague. (I didn't pay for the tickets, they were a birthday gift.)  I got more of a kick with the people yelling around me than the game itself :)  Glad I wasn't at the TFC game (TO's soccer club) on Saturday.  TO fans caused a fight with the opposing team fans.  How embarrassing is that for the city.  We have people throwing $13 beer onto the field and pushing people around.  I don't condone anyone causing havoc, can't we just go and have fun without someone punching someone else's lights out?  Same with winning team fans when they win series.  Why destroy your own town when u win.  Makes no sense to me.  Should be a happy time, not a "let's see how much of a mess we can make" party.  Makes it look like they have no brains, a "Must smash police car" mentality.

Enough for today, or I'll just keep going :P

Follow up

Two tests (Leukemia & Cat Aids) have come back negative.  Thank god.  3rd test still pending.  Lets hope this one figures out what the heck happened.  He's in a awsome mood today, playful like crazy, no wobbles!  so far!

Best Wishes.

Sick Kitty Pt 2

Got a call from the Vet last night at 830pm.  Chemistry (kidneys, liver, etc) came back good.  White Blood Cell Count was high, so he's fighting something.  The viral test wasn't back at the time, she didn't think she'd get it tonight.  Hoping to hear today or Monday.

Weird thing is at 6pm Walle took a turn for the better.  Wobbles weren't as bad, walking around slowly, but you could tell he was feeling better.  Eating, drinking and just feeling better.  Last night (or this AM) around 3 he was running up and down the stairs meowing with a cat toy in his mouth.  Bringing us a gift :)  He has his tail up and walking around this AM like nothing much happened yesterday.  He gets the wobbles if he turns around quick, but other than that u can't tell anything was wrong.  Weird I know.  Here is to hoping.  Don't want to get my hopes up too much cause we need to wait and see now.

Will keep up to date

Sick Kitty

Woke up this AM, went into Kiddo's room.  He was sitting reading(well, looking) at a book quietly.  We started to chat away about going to the Milford Fair today.  We are sitting on the floor chatting away and Princess (our female DLH) comes in to say her morning hello, then our newest DLH, Walle, comes in after a bit too.  I notice right away something isn't right.  All I can see of Walle is his head, it looks like something was on his fur above his eye, all matted.  He proceeds to come in the room more and Jake pipes up a "Ewwwwwww" followed by a "He's got poop on him again Mommy"  (Walle has been having runny poops for the past two weeks, been on 3 different meds for it, vet is starting to know us REAL well, and it's been sticking to his back feet)  I shuffle over towards him going to check his back paws when I notice poop on his side, not just a casual brush of it, but smeared all over his hair on his back hip and side.  I yelled out a "what the hell?", waking up Murray and Grandma (who came down last night to get a ride  with us to the fair today) in the process.  I run down to the basement with Walle in my arms, bottom of the stairs there is some more poop.  Go to the litter box and there is the rest.  At a closer look I noticed that the litter was everywhere!  Wondering what is up and starting to clean is when I notice Walle walking sideways.  No, more like a drunk, that's the best way I can describe it.  Light bulb flashes on above my head, Walle fell in his poop.  Then the gears start to turn, why did he fall, why is he walking like that, has he eaten something that now he's been poisoned hence the unable to control his balance?  I call the emergency vet, they said to bring him in and it's a $135.50 visit.  Our vet is just 5 mins away, and open in 20 mins so we decided to wait at our vet instead.  We get in and the vet is quiet.  She gets him on the floor to check out what's going on.  Since she can't really tell what's up she gives us ideas on what might be happening.  Tears are rolling down my face as she's telling me this.  (I am so angry at myself for being such a baby over this.)  Thank god for Mr.Man being there, cause he was able to get the gist of what was being said.  So basically from what I understand we have a cat who has 3 possible things wrong with him...

1. he has AIDS, yes cats can get AIDS, little did I realize

2. he has leukemia

3. he's had a stroke, but they doubt it cause of his age (just turned a year) and didn't detect anything wrong with his heart during all the other visits we've had, but still a possibility

So, off he goes into the back room with the vet techs to get his blood work started. ($300 to get this testing done)  So the fair is out for me today.  I am staying here (helping Walle go to litter box safely) so Kiddo doesn't get to miss the fair and for Grandma to get her award.  Just sitting around by myself, waiting for a phone call and then deciding from there what to do.  Emergency clinic is the only option as well cause the vet is closed at 2pm and not open again till Monday.  Once we get the phone call tonight on what is wrong then we can proceed with what options will be available at the time.

He was adopted out of a shelter as a adult cat (got him Aug 8/08, just turned 1 in July) and I am glad we got him.  He is the best cat I, myself, have ever had.  He is so good with Jake, he just loves this cat.  He doesn't scratch you or bite. Loves his belly to be rubbed.  He has the extra toes and is the most sucky thing ever.  Loves attention and craves it from you.  He's just so young, that is the hardest part of all, he's so little and young.

Will keep up to date when I know more

First day of JK

First day of JK was Sept 8th.  His school has them going for a full day (8:40am-3pm) so lunch (Bolonga is a FAV right now) and snacks (peanut free of course) were packed in this HUGE backpack.  Took up half the bag!  He did so well.  Didn't cry at all, waved bye and blew us some kisses and off he went into class.  He was tired when he came home afterwards.  2nd day on Sept 10th didn't start off so well.  Cried when he went in.  Think he cried cause when they brought out the toys for the kids to play with he didn't get a chance to play with them, they were told to go inside.  Oh well, he got over it and said he had a awsome time in 'big boy school'.  He keeps asking to go everyday.  Know that won't last long, when he's in older grades I'll have to remind him that he wanted to go everyday :)

Now for myself, JK has been a bitter sweet time.  Loving the free time that I have, getting lots done around the house.  But feeling a bit guilty as well that I am enjoying it.  Hubby and I went out for lunch and ice cream yesterday, by ourselves.  Rare for us :)  I found myself going to open the side door of the van for Kiddo, but he's not there.  They are so much a part of your everyday life for 4 years then poof, they are gone.  I know he's not gone, like college bound or anything, but when you become a parent it's a whole new bunch of feelings come out of you.  I wonder how my parents did it with 3 of us!  I'd go crazy! LOL  Kudos to my parents!!!!  I think I'll enjoy JK just as much as he does.

TO trip on Aug 28th/08

Younge & Dundas
Scramble Walk

Scramble!
Eaton Centre
CN Tower at night with the new LED lights, they change colours, where there is red it becomes purple and purple to red.  Christmas it's red and green, awww how festive!
St. Lawrence Market (close up view) look for the long brown roof to the right of the white tower midway down
Centre Island & end of TO Island Airport
Glass Floor of CN Tower
TO skyline in a rain cloud

The above pictures are from our trip to the CN Tower in downtown TO.  Haven't been there since I was 13.  (yes that was a LONG time ago *wink)  We also got to experience the first scramble walk on Younge/Dundas.  Basically you can cross the street on a X as well as the traditional way.  Cars hate it, pedestrians love it.  Hubby and Sis went to go "experience" it.  Myself, I watched them cross from the corner of the Eaton Centre.  Not really caring if I crossed normal or crossways :)  So enjoy the pictures, hope they remind overseas & domestic friends/family of home :)

Aug 24, 2008

I haven't been on in a while, but nothing much has happened in my life worth writing about.  Kiddo finished his swimming lessons, got a sticker badge for it.  Signed him up for swimming lessons for September for the next level.  He really seemed to like it.  Hope he does ok this time around.  In the summer they go every day for two weeks.  In winter it's once/week for 10 weeks.   I am going to invest in another pass for myself so we can go swimming once/week so he can practice what he learned  since we don't have a pool ourselves.  We went to the beach(lake ontario) yesterday.  I was surprised how warm it was!  I know it's August, it should be warm, but the amount of rain he have gotten this summer I was surprised that it was as warm as it was.  Kiddo did really good swimming, he is getting quite confident in it now, and making me less worried about him.  Don't get me wrong I still worry, but not as much now :)

We are hoping to go to Downtown TO this week.  Get some touristy stuff done with my sister.  She is up for the week and wants to go to ROM/CN Tower/Eaton Centre and maybe do some searching to see if Kenny & Spenny are out and about.  The long weekend (labour day weekend) is coming this week.  Want to go to the County and maybe do some camping, but not sure of the weather yet. :P  Though Kiddo might like it in the rain.  He's been camping once, but I don't think he really remembers it.  He was just over 2 when he went.  Should go visit family too since we are down in their neck of the woods.

Supposed to do something with my brother and his girlfriend(and rest of my side of the family) this week, depends on his schedule.  I might try to post some pictures of any adventures we take this weekend.  Though we might just be camping in our backyard :P

Monday, Aug 18th, 2008

Holy crap I'm on for the 2nd time in a row, very rare :)

Today Kiddo went to daycare for the day.  Hanging out with his little friends and having fun.  He only has this week and next then he's done till he starts school on September 8th.  Summer has gone by way too fast.  Starting to notice that it's getting darker earlier.  Aren't getting as much play time at the park.  Though last night it was the bugs that drove us out of the park.  Flying ants EVERYWHERE!!  Driving us nuts, climbing on skin, shirts, hair, glasses, shoes, on everything.  Uggg.  I grew up in the country and am used to bugs, but this was a little bit too much for me.  We went to a neighbors for a freezie treat afterwards.  They have a little girl who is about a year younger than kiddo.  They have lots of fun playing Monster.  (Monster is just them running up and down the sidewalk saying that a monster is chasing them)  Tonight he has swimming lessons, every afternoon till Friday this week.  Not sure on what class he'll be in, will know once he gets in today I guess.  Other than that this week is going to be a slow one.  No appointments or special things to get. Pretty quiet.  Went back to school clothes shopping today.  Got some good stuff at a good $$ at Old Navy and Zellers.  Now we just wait and see what time/date for the first little visit to his class and we are all set.  That's about it in a nutshell.  Nothing much out there today that is making me want to go hmmmmmm.  If there is, I'll be on later if it needs to be discussed.

Aug 17, 2008

Well.  Let's see.  I have been totally slacking on this blog stuff.  Total laziness on my part.  I do admit stuff when it is my fault, sometimes :)

I have had a good summer so far.  I quit my job in retail at the end of June.  Had enough of the drama surrounding the place.  Was going to stick it out till the end of the Summer, then quit so I could be home when kiddo goes to school.  I had enough.  I can tolerate a lot of things, but it just got too much ,even for me, to handle.  I saw more maturity out of my 4 year old than some of the people I worked with.

Anyways, enough about work.  What else have we done this summer?  We went to the ROM.  Saw the dinosaur bones exhibit.  You tend to forget how big these things were until you see them on display.  Saw a sea turtle fossil which is was amazing, about the size of a VW Bug!!  Been to the Beach in Cobourg a few times this summer as well.  Went to their Rib Fest yesterday.  Awesome food and some pretty good local bands there to entertain the hungry crowd.  Kiddo went on some of the rides, slides and merry-go-round.  And what day is not complete without going to the beach just to get your feet wet (undertow was so strong yesterday I didn't let him go in past his ankles)  We have been at the park behind us a lot, playing with his 1 friend.  They get along so well, it's amazing!  Kiddo has also been in swimming lessons this past week and going again this week.  He passed last week so I am not sure on what 'badge' he's working on this week considering we signed up for two weeks of the same one :P  I have tried my hand at scrap booking.  Did a couple of them that turned out really good and others that are just duds.  Going to try and get into a class sometime soon now that we have a casual babysitter.

Kiddo starts JK in the fall.  This is quite an exciting time for him, well more for me I think.  I am the one that seems to get kind of a smile on my face when school is mentioned.  You invest a lot of time in the first 4 years in a kids life and then they go away from 830-3 every other day.  I find that I do get bored when I'm home by myself.  When Hubby is away for a couple of days with work and it's really lonely then.

We also got another cat to join the family.  His name is Walle.  He's the best cuddly kitty ever!  He's awsome with Kiddo!!  I have yet to see him use his claws for anything.  Even when he's scratching the couch (instead of the scratching pad) u can barely hear his nails digging.  He was really well taken care of and I just adore him.  Hubby does too which is really good.  His other cat was put down over a year ago this past March.  So seeing him getting attached to this little guy is great.  We are more cat people than dog.  I do love dogs, but like it if it's someone else's :)  We still have Princess.  She is my special girl.  I love her to death.  She is a total Diva when it comes to attitude.  She doesn't like Walle, hisses or growls when he walks by, but it's getting better.  Only been a week since we got him.  She is cuddly when she wants to be, but only when she wants too.  She likes to come to bed with me but the other cat follows her up and she gets all freaked out by it.  So she doesn't come up now unless she can ditch him along the way or sneak up without him noticing.

Well that's about it for a update for now,  I'll try to be on more often.
Best Wishes
